___________Our Philosophy___________

Urban Survivor's philosophy is simple -We believe that fitness is more than how you look; it is how you feel. We believe that good habits are as easy to form as bad ones. And we believe in training the body the way it was designed to move, using natural motions, along with traditional training equipment, to achieve the most effective workout possible.

       _________The Survivor Effect__________

The physiological theory behind the Survivor Effect is known as excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC). This means that the more intense and varied your workout, the more calories your body will burn, both during and after exercise.

Instead of exercising longer, a few smart changes to an exercise routine can help boost weight loss and speed metabolism with shorter workouts.

Urban Survivor workouts are one hour of intense and diverse exercises that get dramatic results. During the course of any session, you will perform focused intervals of specific and varied drills and exercises that use your entire body, stimulate your metabolism and reshape your physique.

       __________Survivor Theory___________

In the natural habitat of our ancestors, physical activity was not a preventative measure. It was a matter of survival. Our ancestors survived by hunting wild animals. This meant long periods of walking or jogging combined with short sprints and violent struggles.

Today, most scientists agree that genetically our bodies are virtually the same as they were 40,000 years ago. In short, our genes still “think” we are hunters and gatherers. Today, for optimal health, we  must take note of our ancestors' movement patterns. So how do these patterns translate to modern times?

High intensity, intermittent training mixed with power walking or jogging is closer to how our ancestors lived than long bouts of aerobic exercise or inactivity.

Urban Survivor's programs will:

  • Decrease Fat
  • Increase Lean Muscle
  • Increase  Muscle Definition
  • Increase Power and Strength
