Hello everyone!!

On behalf of “Urban Survivor” Group Fitness, we would like to welcome you all back to “Urban Survivor” for 2006.  Thank you for a GREAT 2005!!

We would like to thank the Gold Coast City Council and the Shaver Shop at Pacific Fair shopping centre for their continued support. 

As you can see, our email is now up and running.  This will allow us to stay in touch with you through out the year - passing on important information and dates, up and coming events, exercise and nutritional information.

Guys and Gals, don’t forget to set yourself some health and fitness goals for 2006.  Set some short and long term goals for this year.  Make sure that your goals stick to the S.M.A.R.T.I.E. principle.  That is:-

S          -           Something you can stick to SIMPLY for the rest of your life.

M         -           MODERATION

A          -           ACHIEVABLE

R          -           REALISTIC

T          -           TME EFFICIENT

“LADIES ONLY – BOOTCAMP”

Ladies, on Monday the 20th of February 2006, “Urban Survivor” Group Fitness is commencing it’s NEW Ladies only – boot camp sessions.  These sessions will be conducted every Monday and Wednesday mornings from 6.00am to 7.00am at Macintosh Island / Narrow Neck at Main Beach.  The cost of these sessions will be only $10.00 as they are not subsidized by the Gold Coast City Council.  The cost is still very reasonable for an excellent workout, compared with other fitness sessions being offered elsewhere.  If you have any questions, let us know.  HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!

“THURSDAY AFTERNOON SESSIONS”

You may not be aware, but “Urban Survivor” sessions have now started on Thursday afternoons from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.  The training venue will always be at the Kurrawa Surf Life Saving Club in Broadbeach.  The cost is $5.00.

DATES TO REMEMBER

Saturday 11/3/06                      - Burleigh Mountain Challenge                 -     Meet at Justin Park Burleigh Heads (northern side of Burleigh Mowbray Park SLSC)

Saturday 8/4/06                        - Springbrook Mountain Challenge           -     Meet at Monaco Street PCYC Broadbeach Waters to catch bus otherwise you can drive.

  1. -          A minimal cost will be incurred for transport on the bus.
  2. -          Times to be advised.

WET WEATHER

“Urban Survivor” sessions will be conducted ‘rain, hail or shine’!  If it is raining – always meet at the location where the sessions were going to take place i.e – Miami, Kurrawa SLSC or Macintosh Island.  A decision will then be made as to whether training will be conducted at these locations or indoors at the Monaco Street PCYC in Broadbeach Waters.

Congratulations to the 21 people that attending training on Saturday 21/1/06.  A very miserable morning!!  However, training was conducted at Monaco Street PCYC.  Everyone took part in an intense boxercise session and “Rescue drills” involving 75kg dummies!!  WELL DONE!
